Nosara welcomed its 14th taco truck this week, this one vowing to draw a crowd that was even younger, more beautiful, and more scantily clad than any of its 13 competitors.
“That’s what it’s all about,” said transplanted San Diego native and owner, Tai Sundance. “The lifestyle.” He continued, “We won’t even be selling tacos, just a vibe. We are really just aiming at some specific Instagram revenue streams – and we decided early on that tacos would just get in the way”.
To this end, Sundance has hired one of Nosara’s most recognized skateboarder influencer vibe experts – Janna Mankowski – to direct all visuals and social marketing for the business.
“Like Tai said, it’s all about the vibe,” said Janna. “And nothing vibes better than a taco truck in a warm, sunny surf town”.
The marketing campaign is unquestionably a success. Once added to the Instagram account in question, this reporter’s feed was filled with a seemingly endless stream of soft-focus, So-Cal taco-surf porn.
Tourists surrounding the truck who were unable to order tacos appeared uncertain and confused, however. “We heard this is the best taco truck in Guiones” one said. “But there are no tacos.”
“Exactly.” said Tai, languidly.
Janna laughed.
