Outpost Nosara announced yesterday the launch of ‘Outpost Basic’, a stripped-down alternative for remote workers who don’t require air conditioning or stable internet. At a mere $4k annual membership fee, the new offering features dedicated barstools at La Ventanita with wifi coming from across the street. Early users have described the wi-fi signal as “pretty good”, except when there are trucks in the way.
Nosara Lately stopped into Ventanita and spotted Janna Mankowski, Nosara’s legendary skateboarder-influencer-vibe expert, perched high atop one of the dedicated ‘Outpost Basic’ barstools. With her Macbook open, iPhone charging, calendar out, and an oat milk latte at her side, Janna had this to say about the new Outpost Basic membership. “I think it’s awesome’. When asked, Janna pushed back hard at the idea that 4k was a lot to pay for a barstool and a wifi signal, pointing out the hidden economies of Outpost Basic.”$16 poke here at Ventanita. $30 acai bowl over at Outpost. The numbers don’t lie. Basic pretty much pays for itself.”
The new trend of adding a ‘Basic’ level to attract less affluent customers is gaining speed here in Nosara. Organico has downscaled its hot food bar to a Subway Kiosk. Influential local healer and men’s coach Kyle Manacini is now offering very affordable 10-minute somatic mini-sessions where clients can simply run their fingers through his chest hair. Sources tell Nosara that even the upscale landmark restaurant La Cathedral is jumping on the trend, and has its own “Cathedral Basic” package in the works. Nosara Lately is particularly intrigued by this piece of news, and intends to rent a mule train for the long and hazardous journey up to Cathedral sometime later this week – and we intend to bring the hard truths to light, as our readers expect.
