Sources have quietly confirmed to Nosara Lately that the El Bosque, the high-end eco-development on the south edge of Guiones, will be rebranding as a high-end Amish community.

“We thought long and hard about it, and we really went back – to who we are, how we met, and what we want to create in this beautiful place,” said Amy Johnson, looking lovingly at Jackson Johnson. “And what came up for us is that rebranding El Bosque as an Amish community is the deepest, most true expression of our goals.”

“I mean, why not? It’s so logical, really. The entire development is already planned to be completely removed from all modern influences. And the covenants in place already say that all houses must be built completely above ground, using only 19th-century hand tools, by vegan or vegan-friendly handworkers.”

She pauses, smiling shyly at her partner.  As if in deep communication, he squeezes her hand, encouraging her to go on.

“The rules already include no gasoline cars – so horse-drawn carriages are really just a minor adjustment. We have access to Guiones through the back road, past the Casa Pacifico and the Zen Center. And the Amish – well, you know how they are – they don’t go out much anyhow.”

Pressed on the economics of the project, the Johnsons demurely decline to comment. “The important thing is that we want this place to always be just like it is right now – forever. So turning it over to a 16th-century religious sect just seems like a great way to go.”
