Trusted sources have informed Nosara Lately that Organico will close its doors for 24 hours on Christmas Day to carry out a complete rebranding of its hot food bar. Sources tell us that the food bar will re-emerge as a fully branded Subway kiosk, similar to what one finds out past gate 20 or 30 at most major American airports.
“It’s a huge step forward for us,” said Organico spokesperson, much-loved crossing guard and stop-sign guy Jorge RamÃrez Hidalgo. “We’ll be bringing all our bread in from the States now. That saves our employees dozens of trips back and forth to the bakery across the national road each day, and makes for a much more relaxed work environment for all of us. It will probably be two years until the pedestrian tunnel mall is completed beneath the road, so it’s a great interim solution for us.”
The design of the Subway kiosk was carried out by Nosara’s own Prendas Loria. Subtle flowing elements of light and space were added to the traditional Subway design aesthetic to invite the customer into what Donald Loria described as a conceptual bridge between the colors green and yellow. Architecture critics throughout the Americas have taken note of Loria’s groundbreaking new take on the iconic Subway design – and many believe Loria will be shortlisted for yet another prestigious award.
Asked about the famous poke bowls, Hildago assured us they will still be available, just not at Organico anymore. “Rinde Mas is putting in a dedicated display just above the kombucha drinks, or maybe in the home improvement aisle, and we will be stocking all varieties at least a couple times a week.”
