The rainy season is showing no mercy this year, and Local K-Section resident and easily irritated man Charles Lumwaft is showing none either. The road between Baker’s and Main is now nearly impassable, with the famous 100-meter-long lake halfway along the way being the well-known main challenge. A lone, barely visible high spot in the middle of this section has provided a pool-shot safety move for ATV’s and motos trying to cross this flooded area, but now this key piece of Nosara infrastructure is blocked.

“It’s not Nosara infrastructure,” says Lumwalft, glowering at our reporter over a beer at K-Raes. “Don’t call it that. It’s leftover concrete from when ICE made me move my front wall. I put it there. It’s actually on my property. And I’m gonna damn well park my truck there.”

Nosara Lately has checked the plano, and can indeed confirm that the area in question is – despite clearly being critical Nosara infrastructure – indeed part of Lumwaft’s property.

One tuk-tuk driver who did not want to be identified said, “The move is still doable, but it’s a lot trickier now. You have to aim really hard at his left taillight, then bank at the last moment. The whole move is underwater ,so you just have to believe.”
