Reports from trusted sources indicate to Nosara Lately that speed cameras will be installed in K-Section, some as soon as this December. Or possibly a couple of years from now.
Local K-Section residents contacted for comment had mixed opinions. “It’s about damn time,” said one famously grumpy B&B owner, known throughout K-Section for the Omaha Beach-level array of hand-dug speed bumps and ditches outside his business. “We’ve been trying to get this done for years.”
Other residents were less enthusiastic. A beloved local K-section painter and stoner who wished to remain anonymous wondered out loud, “Uhh, I mean, my question is, what are they gonna be filming? Y’know?”
Old-time resident Kenneth Mactavish noted there were no speed cameras between Garza and Nosara when he first got here, and it took four days to make that trip during the rainy season.
Early reports indicate the cameras will be first installed in the area around Bodhi Tree. When he heard this, our beloved local stoner cried, “You see? See what I’m sayin’?” and looked knowlegably around, while nodding slowly. Mactavish repeated his comment, emphasizing that K-Section was ruined, and that he had gotten here first, before everyone else, and that it used to take four days to get from Garza to the Gilded Iguana.
Contacted for comment, local Nosara municipal authorities said discussions were under with Nicoya on the revenue split from the speed cameras. Local authorities expressed hope that these funds – along with the new “Energy Exchange” tax on wellness offerings – would accelerate phase one construction ot the planned light rail system that will link Barco Quebrada and Garza.
