Nosara Lately can today reveal that renowned activist Grethe Thune intends to come to Nosara to join forces with local environmental activists in the fight to save the remaining monkeys in K-Section.
The decline of the monkey population in K-section has been well documented and reported by this publication, and has caused an upswell of support within the community, particularly among local real estate firms and the seasonal rental community.
‘The K-Section monkeys are a huge part of what makes K such a desirable location,’ said local realtor and K-chat stalwart Renee Schweider. ‘We just cannot imagine life without them. ’
As is well known among our readers, the K-section howlers were the first howlers to arrive in Guiones, making the journey from Garza when the road was little more than a track through the jungle. They are thus considered more genetically pure than the other monkeys in Guiones, who only came much later and pretty much spoiled the place for everyone.
The plight of the K-Section howlers somehow reached the ears of Grethe Thune, who has reportedly set off time in her schedule sometime in Q2, 2028 to come to Nosara. “We look forward to joining this battle,” said her spokesperson, noting that Thune was fully booked until that time, with Lebanon, Palestine, the child brides of Mongolia, and the deforestation of the Amazon all previously scheduled.
Nosara Lately will bring our readers further details on Thune’s visit as they emerge.
